RE: Reminder – Fundamentals of Coffee-making

Just a reminder to all Tea n’ Coffee Shop managers that it takes more than
our fine beans to make a quality cup of coffee. Sometimes our employees are
so busy frothing cream or sprinkling cinnamon that they can forget the five
key factors to creating the best possible cup of coffee. Listed below are the
five fundamentals of superb coffee creation:

·        Bean quality
·        Water purity
·        Elapsed time from roasting beans to perking
·        Cleanliness of equipment
·        Elapsed time from grinding beans to perking
·         
Please don’t forget to store all beans in clean, glass, air-tight containers
to retain the freshness and aroma of the coffee beans. Beans from your
weekly shipment that you don’t anticipate using within the week must be kept
in the refrigerator of freezer. This retains flavor by preventing chemical
reactions in the beans.
